A: For weddings of 8+ hours, I always have another photographer to assist me on the day of your wedding. That way we can assure that multiple angles of your event are captured, as well as all the candid in between moments that will mean so much to you. Shorter wedding days, elopements and courthouse weddings are easy to shoot myself, but there is also an option to add a second photographer on to your collection.

Q: How many photographers will be at my wedding?

A: My collections begin at 6 hours of coverage, as I have found this to be the minimum amount of time needed to best serve my couples. 8 hours is the ideal amount of time to capture the finishing touches of a glam squad making you look your best through the two of you dancing the night away on the dance floor! You can always add additional coverage if needed at any time, but know I will never leave your wedding without checking in on the two of you to make sure we’ve taken every last photo you were dreaming of.

Q: How many hours of coverage do I need?

A: As a photographer, I recognize the importance of print. I would be doing you a disservice if I didn’t make sure that you had a tangible heirloom from the most momentous day of your life and the start of your legacy together. Not to mention, your images deserve a more beautiful place to live than the cloud. This is why I include an album as my gift to you in collections and I don’t remove it or swap it out for other services/value. 

Q: We don’t want/need an album. Can we remove it from the collection or trade it for something else?

A: Absolutely! I’ve been so blessed to build amazing relationships with so many creative and professional vendors over the years. I only point my couples in the direction of other creatives who I know will take the absolute best care of you, and can send you a list of these names once we’ve made it official! 

Q: Are there other vendors you can recommend to me?

A: I do not charge any travel fees if the wedding is within 90 miles of zip code 61843. Travel fees are assessed on a case by case basis. This also applies to engagement sessions scheduled outside the same radius. Additionally, if the event is beyond a 2 hour drive (based on Google Maps), hotel accommodations will be required for the night of the event and is the responsibility of the client to book.

Q: Do you charge travel fees?

A: Yay! I’m SO excited you’re ready to call yourself a kDarling Couple. However, I never book any couples without first meeting in person or via Zoom/phone call. I wholeheartedly believe you should feel there is no better person to capture your day than me, and in order to 100% know that, you’ll want to get to know me and my personality to ensure it’s a good fit for you before booking. Once we’ve done that, a completed contract and a $1000 ($200 for elopements/courthouse weddings) non-refundable retainer is required to secure your date. 

Q: We Love You and We’re Ready to Book! What’s the next step?

A: Galleries typically include about 75 to 100 photos per hour of coverage, though the exact amount varies from wedding to wedding. You are absolutely more than welcome to print the photos yourself, as your gallery comes complete with fully edited, high resolution images. I also provide an online print shop through your gallery which ensures professional printing through one of my preferred professional print labs.

Q: How many photos are typically included in our collection and can we print them ourselves?

A: I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of shooting an engagement session with all of my #kDarlingCouple family, and that it is a vital part of your experience. It not only helps us get to know one another better, but it helps me to get some insight into your natural chemistry before your big day! The friendships I build with my couples is why I’m able to get the images that I do, which is why I highly encourage every couple to take advantage of them if at all possible. For these reasons, I include the engagement session as my complimentary gift to you.

Q: We’ve already had an engagement session or aren’t going to be in central Il before the wedding. Can we take that off of the Collection?
