Princess Day at Pear Tree Estate was exactly the kind of day you dream about as a little girl playing dress up and watching Disney movies. Wearing your fanciest dress, wearing flower crowns, receiving jewelry, eating sweets, having your picture taken – truly a day dreams are made of!
Winter can get tedious in central Illinois, and little ones get bored being cooped up indoors. This was the perfect opportunity for giving everyone involved something to look forward to and celebrate while we patiently wait for spring! I was so excited when kDarling Photography was asked to be the official royal photographer for this event!
This year’s Princess Day was themed, “The Inside Out Princess,” and featured a coloring book story written by Lauren.
A princess is more than a palace and crown.
Far beyond simply an elegant gown.
A royal girl we should know about.
A true princess from the inside out.
The day started out with the princesses coloring and making wands during check-in. Once they were all settled in, they were welcomed by Annie and started making the royal rounds to their activity stations. There was so much to do, including decorating cakes with Lori. Each princess was able to decorate 4 cupcakes with as much icing and fancy sprinkles as they desired! They also each made handprint keychains which were a big hit! What princess is complete without her royal jewels? Each of the princesses made beaded necklaces with their names stamped on a silver charm and a matching bracelet with their first initial. Each princess also needs a crown and everyone enjoyed making them and wearing them. All of the royalty enjoyed learning a special dance and perfected their curtsey with a lesson from Angela. They all also enjoyed posing for their official princess portrait with me 😉
All this fun can make a princess hungry, and each sweet girl was treated to a delicious lunch catered by L.A. Gourmet. During lunch they were given an etiquette lesson using the letters from the word PLEASE to help the princesses remember their manners.
At the end of the day the parents, friends and family of these royal little ladies were welcomed back to the castle and entertained by their daughters as they performed their dance and curtsied. The 8-10 year old princesses ended the day by reading “The Inside Out Princess,” story for all to enjoy.
