Oh my goodness, this year was filled with so many awesome senior sessions with unbelievably cool high school seniors. Man are these kids going places. Seniors have it together way more than I did at 18 years old. They know what they want their major to be in college, or what trade they plan to pursue. Dang, I didn’t get all that figured out until I was in my 30s.

To say this past year has been hard is an understatement, and the class of 2021 definitely has not had an easy senior year. Some attended school virtually, some in person and some with a combination of both. Sports were a no-go. And then they all happened at once. Homecomings and proms were either non-existent – or they happened in a completely reimagined way. What a weird freaking year.

But hey, when life gives you lemons, you whip up a big old batch of lemonade! These young adults made the best of a cruddy situation. It might be cliche to say, but they will be stronger because of it. They have learned to adapt and overcome obstacles and still manage to smile and continue and to plan for the future.

So, congratulation class of 2021, wishing you a lifetime of happiness – continue to kick butt and not let anything stand in your way!

Born and raised right here in central Illinois – Cissna Park to be exact – I transplanted over 20 years ago to Fisher. I’m proud to say I’m now a Fisher Bunnie (yep, that’s our school mascot, you can’t make these things up).
