Yay! The Fisher Fair is finally here! Each year the entire Fisher community looks forward to the fair! This little community fair in Champaign county packs a big punch! the festivities kick off tonight with the Miss Fisher Fair Pageant. First up will be the Little Miss competition starting at 6 p.m. followed by the Jr. Miss and Miss Fisher Fair Pageant.

Who will be crowned next??!!??!!

Each year it is amazing to see how much these girls grow and gain confidence in themselves. Being fair royalty is so much more than dressing up in pretty clothes and wearing a crown. Visiting all the fairs, riding in parades, meeting new people, having so many new experiences proves to these young ladies what they are capable of. And I’m here to tell you – the world is all their’s for the taking!

Good luck to all the girls competing in tonight’s pageant. No matter what the outcome, you are a star!

On Wednesday the highlight of the summer for preschool – elementary aged kids is the kids games, starting at 9:30 a.m. and the IPA Tractor Pulls starting at 6 p.m. – it’s also armband night on the midway with Swyear Amusements.

The sheep show starts Thursday morning and the big highlight of the day are the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League in the grandstand.

Friday is another BIG day at the fair with the Horse and Beef show in the morning followed up by the always popular Fisher AMVETS Fish Fry and a concert by Country Concert recording artist Joe Nichols with Lacey KayeBooth.

And we can’t forget Saturday – the can’t miss , always the highlight of the summer – Demolition Derby! Watching cars smash each other up, what’s better than that?
